Diamond Frame Bogie
Brief Description :

    Diamond or Arch-bar Frame Bogies are introduced on Railways in the year 1930-1931 and now not in use. These bogies are with journal bearings in journal boxes and were used on Steam Locomotives and also on freight cars. In this type,the side frames are fabricated rather than cast. These type of bogies are having fabricated bolster and side frame. The side frames are comprised of the top and bottom arch-bars and connected by tie bars. Laminated springs are used in the bolster for suspension. Plain bearings are provided at the axle ends.

    NOW A DAYS, NO SUCH BOGIES ARE IN USE.
